As Autumn comes underway and schools settle into their routines- we over at 2Birds have been so grateful for the support of all of our local school organizations for all their wonderful orders! The Laurel Lane Elementary penguins turned out downright adorable. Sadly the availability of a wide variety of products from my suppliers has dipped drastically from previous levels. In short- “Houston, we have a problem”.

The industry as a whole is experiencing extreme backlog and suffering from truck driver shortages, freighter ship backups, delivery delays due to increase in home delivery, stock being less available in local warehouses, and huge fluctuations in stock. Just like everything during Covid-there are shortages and increases in pricing everywhere.

Due to low stock levels and industry-wide issues we at 2Birds have to make some changes.

• It’s going to take a little bit longer to get products that are in stock (3 weeks) rush options will be available on certain items
• pricing increases due to increase in transportation and printing costs across the board

But there are things that we will do to help our customers and families by focusing on better communication as far as the progress of their orders. We are also seeking other contracts with wholesale distributors to widen our options for quality products and using local couriers to avoid delays and hefty shipping costs. We also want to offer a wider variety of spirit items such as bags, temporary tatoos, car magnets, water bottles and umbrellas (more to come!).

The long and the short of it is- some things will always be changing in this industry but the support of our customers and community seem to stay the same. We are grateful for all the orders so far this year and are excited for where we are headed. Without our superstars 2Birds would have just been a dream unrealized. We will continue to work hard to get orders into the hands of our customers as quickly as we can!
