When we saw Labor Day on the horizon, we knew we wanted to feature a hard working business that does what it can to make a workplace feel like a home. Luckily we didn’t have to look too hard, because Kelsey has been working with Mary Hertzler and her company since long before 2 Birds’ was officially founded. Hertzler Clearing and Grading has been setting their employees (and much of Williamsburg) up for success for 25 years!
Since 1995 this small, family business has been clearing the way for Williamsburg’s steady growth, clearing land and leveling it for construction projects like homes and shopping centers. Hertzler and her employees are experts at what they do and have enough construction vehicles and equipment to make any 6 year old drool. Whether it’s cutting trees, digging basements, or demolishing old buildings, Hertzler has the experience and know how to get the job done!
Mary has come to Kelsey a lot over the years for new designs. With her crew rarely being more than 10, and with half of those being family, Mary knows her workforce well and likes to cater new designs to some of the individuals who will be wearing them. Here are a few of our favorites!

What a great image for Labor Day! This patriotic design was planned with Mary’s son Caleb in mind. Caleb’s love of the red, white and blue was the perfect inspiration!

This design features Mary’s other son Thomas behind the wheel. Thomas enjoys competing in local tractor pulls with one of the family business’ trucks!

These designs were put together for Mary herself who loves all things Christmas! They made excellent gifts at that year’s company Christmas party.

This design is for Mary’s her “son-in-love” who was apparently a little jealous of everyone else’s fun shirts. It’s a good thing, because this design really proved to be out of this world!
