Nestled away mere minutes from Williamsburg’s popular New Town area, lies the latest headquarters of Williamsburg Gymnastics. While the new building, constructed with safety and performance in mind, has only been their home since 2018, Williamsburg Gymnastics has been training promising athletes since 1974.
Former William and Mary gymnastics coach Cliff Gauthier began a recreational gymnastics program at the college in 1973. This program was carried on and expanded by assistant coach and former W&M gymnast, Peter Walker, who turned it into the real youth program it is today. Peter Walker is now owner and head coach, helping to shape generations of promising local gymnasts. Over the years he has been awarded the 2008 USAG Assistant Coach of the year, the 2008 and 2011 ECAC (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference), Assistant Coach of the Year, and the prestigious 2006, 2008, and the 2014 NCAA Eastern Region Coach of the Year. While training collegiate athletes was their primary focus in 1974, in the here and now you can find something for every ability and fitness level at Williamsburg Gymnastics. There are specific classes for infants, preschoolers, homeschoolers, teens, adults, dancers and cheerleaders. Walker’s dedication is apparent in every class and training program offered at Williamsburg Gymnastics.
In addition to amazing classes for all ages, Williamsburg Gymnastics can help you entertain your kiddos when you need it most with birthday parties and summer camps. Gym parties include a party room, balloons, and a gymnastics coach to show your child and their friends the ropes! Party themes include gymnastics, ninja warriors, NERF guns and open gym. Williamsburg Gymnastics also offers summer camps for ages five and up. For three hours a day, five days a week your gymnast can have fun with activities focusing on developmental gymnastics, agility training, strength and flexibility development.

Competitive gymnasts train all year round to compete at the local, state, regional, and national levels between December and May. While participation in the competitive teams is only available via invitation or tryout, serious young athletes can find the training and encouragement they need with Williamsburg Gymnastics.
